The shift from seeking to embodying
That moment when you're called to live your message.
A live update from the trenches of soulpreneurship.
I know that my purpose is deeply rooted in the journey of self-discovery and self-expression — particularly, how it comes to life through a brand and business — so I have always paid extra close attention to this area of my life. I’ve been holding a magnifying glass over the invisible force that connects my soul (my identity), my brand, and my business.
In other words: I have been constantly trying to figure out who the f*ck I am, and how to build a brand and business in the most authentic, aligned way possible. (And to help others do the same.)
The problem with this pursuit, though, is that who I am is always evolving. There is no “there”… and it drives me crazy. I’ve been in my usual mental spin this past month, hypothesizing and analyzing and restrategizing yet again (my favourite hobby lol) — back at the drawing board, trying to craft the most perfect plan and model to align with the truest version of myself.
The last few weeks have brought a pause in this process, though — intuitively I knew that a piece of the puzzle was waiting to drop in, like an airplane circling in the sky before landing. In the orbit but not yet grounded.
Well, I think it just landed. And it’s telling me that this current pause is because I’ve reached the edge of what my mind can create or solve or plan for. I am now being called to LIVE my message, to embody it in a way I haven’t before. (SCARY. Now I see why my mind likes its loops.)
I’ve recently had a few experiences of noticing how easy it could be — to be myself, do what I love, speak my truth — and that perhaps the joy and fulfillment I’ve been seeking can only be unlocked from that space. In the space of no longer seeking, but simply being.
I believe wholeheartedly that our businesses are portals for self-actualization.
That the truest expression of our purpose is not only our clients’ medicine, but ours too. I believe that the work we are here to bring forward is the work we need the most. Put simply, we must let our work work us.
With that in mind, I’m just going to chill with this airplane for a minute without rushing to action it or make it mean anything. I’m going to experiment with living my message in real time, sans strategy. My brain is freaking out, but something in my soul is stirring… so, let’s see where this adventure takes us.
